that-it is-the-dnssec

The identification of the computers in Internet is carried out through the directions IP, which are unique for each equipment. Then, system DNS, in Spanish System of Name of Domain, is the one that is in charge to establish the relation between the names of domain and directions IP.

Starting off of this base, the DNSSEC is a set of extensions of security developed for the service of DNS that makes use of an asymmetric coding to provide the maximum security. Its main objective is to verify which is the origin of a servant DNS, as well as to guard by the security of the data between servers DNS.

How DNSSEC works

Protocol DNSSEC is an extension of the protocol DNS that provides security to him. One of its main functions is to avoid attacks as the denominated poisoning of cache, which is more and more habitual in the virtual world; it consists of sending answers false with the only objective to direct to the users to a destiny different from the real domain.

The operation of DNSSEC is the following one. When a user accedes to a site with qualified DNSSEC is the following one. First of all, the navigating Web verifies servers DNS related to the domain. Secondly, it verifies that public the digital companies that receive with the companies published in the Registry.

If they agree, the navigating Web confirms the request and, this way, it shows the content the user. In case the companies do not agree, the user cannot see the content of the website.

To verify if a domain name is compatible with DNSSEC

Portal DNSSEC-Validator has an extension that allows to know fast and simple way if the domain supports or nonDNSSEC. Next we explained how to realise the verification process step by step.

  1. When you accede to the website, it selects the page €œDownload€ and chooses the extension to unload based on your navigating Web.
  2. Once installed the extension in the navigating Web, in the eyelash icons appear some that they indicate if the domain supports or nonDNSSEEC. If the domain is compatible with DNSSEEC you will see an icon in the form of key in green color; otherwise, it will appear in red color.
  3. This extension also verifies if the digital certificate of the website is compatible with registry TLSA. In addition, it informs to you on if the website uses HTTPS, a security protocol that guarantees that website is safe.

Thus, thanks to protocol DNSSEC the users can sail by Internet of the safer very many form, avoiding to fall in websites that they supplant to the original ones. With DNSSEC the ciberdelincuentes have it much more complicated to falsify the information since they do not have access to the servers of first level.
